Zebra Forest by Adina Rishe Gewirtz

They don’t just let people walk out of prison, you know.

Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I was absolutely drawn to the cover of this book!  Annie and Rew live with their Grandmother. Their Mom left them in her care long ago, when their father died.  They are more or less happy, sometimes their Grandma is well enough to take care of them, sometimes they have to take care of themselves, but they get along well enough.  Annie is absorbed by the hostage situation in Iran, watching updates on her friends television.   To past the time, Annie and Rew would make up stories about their father, and the exciting situations he might have got himself into.

One night a near by prison’s security is breached and several prisoners escape.  One of those prisoners ends up in the kitchen of Annie & Rew’s.  One of those prisoners just happened to be their ‘dead’ father.  I won’t spill the beans on what happens next, you must read this book!  Superb writing, you will thoroughly enjoy!
