A small town with lots of secrets, legends and strange disapperances…welcome to West Hall, Vermont!  In 1908, Sara Harrison Shea is found dead in the field behind her house just a few short months after the very tragic death of her daughter, Gertie.  Today, 19 year old Ruthie along with her little sister and mother, live in Sara’s farmhouse.  Their mother has always insisted that they live off the grid,  which Ruthie starts to understand why when she wakes up one morning to find her mother gone without a trace.   Not wanting to call the police right away,  Ruthie and her sister Fawn start looking for clues as to their mother’s whereabouts and stumble upon a copy of Sara Harrison Shea’s diary hidden beneath the floorboards.  The girls quickly get sucked into the mystery of Sara’s fate, they also learn that they are not the only ones looking for someone they have lost.  You will be floored when you find out what is really going on at the house of Sara Harrison Shea, I was seriously scared for all the characters in the story!! Definitely a book you need to put on your to-be-read list!!!
