This book was suggested to me by a friend.  I had seen it on goodreads.com so thought I’d give it a try.  This book reminded me SO much of the show I used to watch, Gossip Girl.  There is so much that goes on in this story, I don’t even know where to begin.  A single mother, who is always at the office making sure her only daughter has everything that she could possibly need.  Hardly being home and almost always not on time, Kate resents her job sometimes, but it’s all worth it for Amelia.   Amelia is an amazing student and teenager, never having done anything risky and always has her head on tight.  That is until  she is invited into a ‘secret’ group, whom she swore to her best friend she would never be apart of, but how could she say no?

You will read through all the insane trials these girls are put through for this ‘secret’ group, the people who are guarding these girls as well as the results of such things.  This more about the story leading up to Amelia’s death.  Up to the point where is is caught cheating and to the point where has been found dead after falling from the school’s roof.  To make things worse, her mother was late to picking her up from being expelled from school, only to arrive to find her amazing daughter to be gone.

Nothing seems to add up, especially when Kate gets a text that says “Amelia Didn’t Jump”.   To find out more about this heart-stopping story, you have to pick up this book!  There was not a time when I wanted to put it down!  Reconstructing Amelia is a story of secrets and lies, of love and betrayal, of trusted friends and vicious bullies. It’s about how well a parent ever really knows a child and how far one mother will go to vindicate the memory of a daughter whose life she could not save.
