Unforgivable by Lisa Wooten

unMy brain’s not right. It shelters me from the troubles of reality by creating a magical world for me.  In this world, I can be anyone or anything.  It’s my secret getaway.

I received this book from the author herself, which I would like to thank her greatly!

This story kept my mind reeling throughout the whole book.  Joan, the main character is admitted to an institution for killing her best friend on prom night.  Joan does not belive that she is the killer.  She can’t be, she is a normal girl.  On top of that, no one will listen to her.  In an attempt to block out what happened that gruesome night, Joan floats away to her own, happy world in her head.  Her world is a lot better than dealing with all the ‘crazy’ people in the institution! She begins to confide in her psychiatrist.  She thinks that with his help, she can get out of the asylum and have a normal life out side of these walls. As her memory starts to come back to Joan, she is on the edge of sanity and insanity, reality and fantasy as she realizes that she may have committed the terrible crime after all.  All the way up to the shocking ending, I was captivated by Joan’s character.  I really did believe that she was innocent, untill her mind started to unravel to reveal her-own deepest darkest secrets.

I would recommend this book if you like suspense!  This story will keep you asking your-self over and over again, is she innocent or not?
